Parents of Delhi Public School,Pune,were left in a state of confusion when no school bus came to bus stops on Thursday morning. Parents later came to know the school was shut because of a strike by transport staff. Even though a few parents complained,the school authorities did not give any prior information about closure of the school. The principal had posted a circular on the school’s website. According to the circular,the school was shut because ‘the transport staff informed the outsourcing agency,their immediate employer,that they would not be reporting for duty on Thursday morning.’ The circular said the school would remain shut on Thursday and Friday and exams of Classes IV to XII,scheduled for September 15 will be postponed.

Attack on cops: 10 teams formed to nab suspects

Sahakarnagar police are hunting for suspects who injured three policemen and a youth on Wednesday. A police team had gone to Royal Arcade Society near Shankar Maharaj Math on Satara road when they were attacked and hit with iron rods. Police have formed 10 raid teams. Two teams have gone to Osmanabad and Solapur. Police confirmed that they raided places in Swargate,Dattawadi,Kondhwa,Bharti Vidyapeeth to nab the suspects.
