A 26-year-old cyclist lost his life after being knocked down by a speeding tempo around 7 am on Monday. The cyclist,identified as Vijay Uttam Nimkarde (26),was a software engineer and a resident of Satavwadi in Hadapsar. Acting on a complaint lodged by his brother Anant Nimkarde,the Hadapsar police arrested tempo driver Nivrutti Gurav for negligent and rash driving. Police said Nimkarde was going from Lohiya Garden towards his home when the tempo dashed him.
