The Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) has invited entries for various awards. These include the B G Deshmukh Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),G S Parkhe Industrial Merit Awards for Women Entreprenuers,RJ Rathi Award for Environmental Pollution Control in Industries in Maharashtra and the Harimalini Joshi Award for new products and design.
The small,medium and large scale enterprises,that have carried out CSR activities for the handicapped,education,health and hygiene,environment,safety,conservation of energy,water,waste management or any social field,are eligible to apply for B G Deshmukh Award for CSR,said a press release from MCCIA.
Innovation is applied creativity and MCCIA recognises and rewards such innovation through the G S Parkhe Award. Innovation and sustainable technologies go hand in hand and Ramabai Joshi Award for women entrepreneurs is promoting it. Products and appliances useful for domestic purposes will be recognised by Hari Malini Joshi Award instituted in 1964, it said.
Dr R J Rathi Award for Environmental Pollution Control in Industries in Maharashtra has been instituted by Dr R J Rathi Charity Trust and administered by MCCIA. This is the 13th consecutive year of the award.
The purpose of this award is to provide encouragement and recognition to the efforts made by industries in Maharashtra towards control and abatement of environmental pollution. The Award carries a trophy along with a citation to the best unit amongst the applications received for the award. Small,medium or large-scale units in following categories will be eligible to apply for this award.
Chemical industries include sugar,distilleries,drugs,pharmaceuticals,paints,fertilizers,paper,leather,food processing industries and dairies and non-chemical industries include engineering,automobile,electrical and service industries are hotels,said the release. The last date for applyingis March 20.
