Call for sister city arrangement between Pune,Bangalore

Experts at an industry meet organised to unveil Bangalore IT.biz 2011 event cited the similarities between Bangalore and Pune and said there was a need for a sister city arrangement.

Experts at an industry meet organised to unveil Bangalore IT.biz 2011 event cited the similarities between Bangalore and Pune and said there was a need for a sister city arrangement.

“ There is a need for both the cities to work together on various fronts such as IT and education to increase their contribution in nation building,” said Anant Sardeshmukh,executive director,MCCIA.

His thoughts were supported by MN Vidyashankar,principal secretary,department of IT,BT and S&T,Government of Karnataka who promised to take it further during his presentation at the Bangalore IT.biz event.

The Government of Karnataka and the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) unveiled the 14th edition of Bangalore IT.biz 2011 scheduled between October 18 and 20 at Hotel Lailt Ashok,Bangalore. With its core theme as ‘India Innovates’, the Bangalore IT.biz 2011 will aim at capturing major developments in the country even as the thrust would remain on Research and Development (R&D) and Innovation.

During the event,Vidyashankar said,“Bangalore IT.biz 2011 will be an event for everyone in the IT,hardware and semiconductor sectors. This edition of IT.biz will have a more focused approach towards providing platform for the innovators,be it in products,technologies,services or delivery. A unique platform for buyers and sellers to interact with each other and explore business opportunities will be offered with unique online interlink tool to connect people. IT is also playing significant role in good governance”
