Business Diary: MCS opens facility

The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) will implement a global environmental facility (GEF) funded World Bank project which aims at increasing the demand for energy efficiency investments in micro medium and small enterprises (MSME) in five selected clusters including in Pune. The clusters identified for the project include Pune forging cluster,Kolhapur foundry,Tirunelveli Limekilns,Ankleshwar Chemicals and Faridabad mixed cluster. The project is aimed at enhancing profitability and increasing market access. SIDBI has selected MITCON Consultancy & Engineering Services to carry out specific tasks under the project in the Pune forging cluster.

New plan from Bajaj Allianz

Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance has launched a new unit-linked plan (ULIP) – guaranteed maturity insurance plan (GMIP) – that provides maturity at least 200 percent of the amount invested along with a secure life cover. With the minimum single premium as low as Rs 5,000,the product is the lowest single premium ULIP available in the country,said a press release. Rituraj Bhattacharya,head,product development & market management,Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance,said,“People living in small towns and rural areas rarely get a chance to invest in ULIPs mainly due to the high premium sizes or the commitment to pay premiums year after year. The new plan is aimed at reaching out to these segments.”

Tata Docomo launches two stores

Tata DOCOMO recently inaugurated two new stores,on FC Road and Fatimanagar. The stores have been designed keeping in mind the breakthroughs in next generation telephony. Visitors will be able to experience new digital technologies,company officials said. Anand Iyer,chief operating officer,rest of Maharashtra,Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Ltd,said,“The launch of these stores is aimed at keeping the walk-in customers abreast of the latest technology,showcasing world of next-generation mobile services,experience devices and appreciate convergence.”

Minister visits Krishidhan stall

Minister of State for Public Works Jaidatta Khirsagar recently visited Krisidhan Seeds Pvt Ltd stall at the Marathwada Krishi Pradarshan at Beed. Krisidhan is a Pune-based firm. Kshirsagar interacted with Shrikant Shirsavkar,AGM,marketing,Krishidhan Vegetable Seeds Pvt Ltd and Bhalerao from Food Crop Department of Krishidhan. Khirsagar said he was “amazed” with the way Krishidhan team were interacting with the farmers. Marathwada Krishi Pradashan is a three-day event organised every year for the farming community,said a press release.
