Vastav Bharambe was made to sweat for every point before advancing to the next round in the boys Under-13 section of the Solaris Club District Badminton Non-Ranking tournament on Friday.
With seven matches of the day going the distance,Bharambes victory was special as he rallied from a game down against Viraj Bidaye in an 85-point marathon encounter.
Losing the first game 13-15,Bidaye fought hard to grab the second 16-14 in his favour to level the match. In the decider,Bharambe kept his nerve to win 15-12.
Likewise,the boys Under-11 section witnessed another turnaround encounter with Adya Parasnis downing Thomas Basil 12-15,15-8,15-13. In the
Under-13 section,Atharva Aras got past Amogh Thakur 13-15,15-11,15-11.
In other three-game encounters,Yash Adhikari and Arjun Deepak (Under-11); Pranav Phatak and Hrishikesh Pendse (Under-13) and Ninad Joshi (Under-15) advanced.
