At 81.91,Pune division pass percentage higher than state’s

At 81.91 per cent,the Pune division of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has scored higher than the overall pass percentage of the state.

At 81.91 per cent,the Pune division of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has scored higher than the overall pass percentage of the state.

In keeping with the state-level trend,girls have outperformed boys in Pune division too in the Class XII examinations held in February-March 2013,and the results of which were out online on Thursday.

The overall pass percentage of Pune division stands at 81.91,with 87.31 per cent pass percentage for girls,which is around 10 per cent higher than boys,according to the statistics provided by the board.

Pune division consists of Pune,Ahmednagar and Solapur districts,which registered a pass percentage of 81.92 per cent,87.75 per cent and 74.77 per cent,respectively.

The pass percentage of girls in Pune district is 86.67,which is around 9 per cent higher than boys.

A total of 1,85,287 fresher candidates and 24,352 repeater candidates appeared for this year’s examination from Pune division.

The pass percentage of fresher candidates is 81.91,while that of repeaters is 29.07.

As part of a drive against cheating,a total of 173 cases of malpractice were recorded during this year’s exams from the division.
