Forms for the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test 2012 will be available from Monday at junior colleges and high schools.

Forms for the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) 2012 will be available from Monday at junior colleges and high schools and for candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary Certificate exams or equivalent exams outside Maharashtra,the forms will be available at divisional authorities. The last date for the submission of forms is March 31. The exam will be held on May 10. The cost of the form is Rs 700 for open category students and Rs 500 for reserved category for Maharashtra students only.

Fire in Parvati building,five rescued

Five persons,including a senior citizen and a 10-year-old girl,were rescued from a residential building near Parvati after the electricity meters and a two-wheeler in the building parking lot caught fire due to a short circuit on Sunday. Fire brigade officials said the control room got a call around 5 pm. Station officer Sanjay Ramteke said,There were eight electricity meters. We suspect one of them may have caught fire after a short circuit. The fire spread fast and a brand new bike parked nearby also caught fire. Our team rescued Madhukar Kulkarni (74) and his daughter. We also rescued three members of a family,including a 10-year-old girl,who were stuck on the first floor.
