Another cannon shell found at Hinjewadi

A day after a cannon shell was reportedly found at garbage depot of PMCs solid waste plant near Ramtekdi,it has come to light that another cannon shell was found 4 days earlier on the premises of Omni Active Health Technologies Private Limited in Hinjewadi,making it the third incident in a week.

Madhukar Lanjekar,administrative officer of the company alerted the Hinjewadi police station this morning.

The cannon shell was found on June 8,when construction work for a transformer was on.

Construction worker Bhimrao Navsupe (38),who found the cannon shell,informed the company staff about it,police said Wednesday. Police said the company staff did not inform the cops about cannon shell on June 8.

They kept the cannon shell aside. On reading reports about a shell being located Tuesday in the solid waste plant at Ramtekdi,the company staff alerted the police station on

Wednesday.

Police said the shell is about 11 inch long and has a diameter of three inches. It will be handed over to the Army.

The first cannon shell was found on June 7 when construction work was on near Sayaji Hotel in Hinjewadi.

A few months ago,another shell was found in a garbage depot in the jurisdiction of Loni Kalbhor police station.

Investigation is on to ascertain where the shells were manufactured and how they came to the public places.
