An eight-year-old boy was electrocuted after he came in contact with a live metal railing next to a ride at an amusement park set up along Katraj- Kondhwa Road on Saturday evening. Police have arrested the proprietor of the amusement park and operator of the rides on the charges of causing death due to negligence. Police have identified the deceased as Ganesh Pawar (8), a resident of Gokulnagar on Katraj Kondhwa Road. A First Information Report in the case was registered by his father Raju Pandu Pawar (37), who works as a construction supervisor. Around 6.15 pm on Saturday, Ganesh and Raju had gone to the temporarily set up amusement park named 'Foreign City Exhibition' on Katraj- Kondhwa Road. When Raju rushed to separate Ganesh from the railing, he also received a shock. Some people standing nearby used a wooden stick to pull Ganesh behind. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Assistant Inspector Vishwas Bhabad, who is investigating the case said, "The probe suggests that the negligence on the part of the proprietor of the fun fair and operator of the rides led to the death. No precautionary checks were done and there were no safety measures in the place. We have arrested two persons in the case."
