A long wait for Class XI admission

Parents and students are now waiting for the announcement of Class XI admissions which are not likely to start before the end of the next week.

Parents and students are now waiting for the announcement of Class XI admissions which are not likely to start before the end of the next week.

The Bombay High Court stayed the Class XI admission process after parents of few ISCE students moved the court against the best-five policy of the state government. The hearing on the same will be held on Friday. “The process of admission will depend on what the court says on Friday,” said a senior officer of the education department.

“Even as the final decision will come on Friday,it will take at least a week to start the admission process since we will have to make arrangements accordingly. If the hearing gets postponed,it will take more time,” said the officer.

On Thursday morning, there was confusion among parents and students whether the government had withdrawn the best-five formula. However, the officer clarified that there was no official communication from the government on it since the matter is subjudice.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the results online and provided the marks as per the best-five formula. Despite some initial hiccups owing to power cuts, there were no major problems in accessing the board websites. “The MSBSHSE has rolled out the best-five scheme from this year and we have given the marks accordingly,” said A B Bhosale, assistant secretary of MSBSHSE.
