Police said eight two-wheelers and a car were set afire by the suspects in an automobile garage in Narhe. (Express Photo) NINE vehicles parked in an automobile garage in Narhe area of Pune were set on fire and six more vandalised early Wednesday, police said.
Police have launched a manhunt for three people, whom they suspect were behind the incident and have booked them for arson and vandalism.
According to officials from Sinhagad Road police station, a fire was reported on the premises of Perfect Auto Garage near Ambamata Temple in Narhe around the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
A team from the Pune fire brigade rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 12.30am. The fire brigade personnel also found that some vehicles in the garage were vandalised.

Senior inspector Abhay Mahajan, in-charge of Sinhagad Road police station, said, “Investigation revealed that this was a deliberate act of arson and violence.”
“It has come to light that one of the suspects had a financial dispute with a man, whose vehicles were parked at the garage, over a property deal. The suspect set these vehicles on fire and vandalised them. The fire then spread to other vehicles,” said Mahajan.
“Eight two-wheelers and a car were completely gutted. The suspects vandalised two four-wheelers and four two-wheelers. We have identified the three suspects and launched a search for them,” said the senior inspector.
