About a dozen people, including the crew of a cargo aircraft, loaders and ground support staff, had a narrow escape at the Cargo terminal of the Indira Gandhi International Airport early on June 6 when the nose of the plane went up in the air due to imbalance caused while offloading cargo.

The Boeing 747 aircraft belonged to Polar Air. The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. The tail of the Polar Air cargo aircraft was badly damaged in the incident. According to airport sources, the accident took place during offloading. A number of containers got shifted toward the tail of the plane upsetting the balance of the aircraft and its nose went in the air.
