Rajendra Pawar said that achieving ISO certification is commendable, but maintaining it through continued excellence is equally important.

For the first time, six key offices of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) under the Pune Zone have received the ISO-9001:2015 certification.
MSEDCL’s zonal office, circle offices at Rasta Peth, Ganeshkhind and Civil circle offices, one sub-division office at Hadapsar, Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum at Kasba Peth have received the prestigious ISO certification. The certification was awarded based on performance in administrative efficiency, implementation of government schemes, customer service standards, infrastructure readiness, and electricity bill collection.
A formal certificate distribution ceremony was held on Wednesday. The event was chaired by Rajendra Pawar, Director (Human Resources), MSEDCL. Regional Director Bhujang Khandare, ISO lead auditor Nandkumar Deshmukh, and chief engineer Sunil Kakade were also present.
Speaking at the event, Rajendra Pawar said that achieving ISO certification is commendable, but maintaining it through continued excellence is equally important. “All staff should treat consumers with courtesy and work within the timelines set by the Regulatory Commission, while upholding respect for women and senior citizens,” Pawar said.
According to the official statement issued on Monday, the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) has become the first such forum in India to receive ISO certification. ISO Auditor Nandkumar Deshmukh praised CGRF chairperson Mahendra Diwakar for promoting consumer awareness along with efficient complaint resolution.
Daytime power for farmers in Junnar villages
Farmers in 10 villages of Hiware Panchkroshi area in Junnar taluka—a place frequented by leopards— will now receive daytime electricity for their agricultural pumps, thanks to a newly commissioned 4 MW solar project at Tejewadi village. Set up under the Chief Minister’s Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme 2.0, the project spans 12 acres of grassland and was inaugurated on Wednesday.
This initiative, part of the state’s ambitious plan to generate 16,000 MW of solar power exclusively for agriculture, aims to reduce farmers’ dependence on night time electricity—particularly crucial in areas that have a high presence of wild animals such as leopards. Over 2,000 farmers in these 10 villages are expected to benefit from this scheme.
The project is connected to the Hiware Budruk 33/11 KV substation, located just 5km away. “This is the third solar project commissioned in Manchar division, after successful installation of 4 MW and 8 MW projects in Peth (Ambegaon taluka) and Netwad (Junnar taluka) respectively,” added Pawar.
