25-year-old Pune biker on way to office hit by truck, dies

Thube had recently started working for software firm in Pune.

According to police, around 4.30 pm, Thube was on his way for a training session in his firm in Yerawada which he had joined some days ago when his bike was hit by a truck carrying grains.

Police sub inspector V A Ingale of Mundhwa police station, the investigating officer in the case, said, “The truck hit Thube’s bike from behind. He fell down because of the impact and the came under the wheels of the truck. He sustained very severe injuries. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.”

Police have arrested the driver of the truck, identified as Vitthal Bhimrao Rajguru (50), a resident of Alandi.
Thube’s body was handed over to his family late Monday after autopsy.

In another accident that took place around the same time in Hinjewadi, a 50-year-old woman was killed after she was hit by a speeding bike. Hinjewadi police have identified the woman as Vimalabai Namdeo Gajdhane, a resident of Kadam Chawl in Hinjewadi.

Police said that around 3.45 pm, when she was on her way to some work, she was hit by a bike. She succumbed to her injuries during treatment in the hospital sometime later.

The police have arrested the biker, identified as Mohsin Shaikh.
