A 12-hour,non-stop Musical Maha Yagna was organised at Yamunanagar auditorium by the Nandkishore Cultural Society,Nigdi-Pradhikaran.
The society has organised the Sangeet Nritya Maha Yagna in memory of Vimal Kapote,mother of famous classical dancer,Nandkishore Kapote.
Many corporates from the industrial township of Pimpri-Chinchwad attended the programme,said a press note. People from the political and art fields were also present. The programme was inaugurated by local corporator Suman Pawle.
During the 12-hour programme,Madhuri Ambekar,Sudhakar Chavan,Rameshwar Dange,Shivanand Swami,Vijayanti B and Ila Pawar performed classical songs while Suresh Kulkarni sang bhajans. Nandkishore Kapote,Geeta Sharma and Tejashree Adige presented classical dances. Flute recitals and tabla sessions were also held.
Prashant Shitole,standing committee chairman,Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation,was present,said the note.
