WAVES 2025 from today; to showcase India’s creative industry and its potential

The four-day World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will kick off at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai on Thursday.

The first such summit to be hosted by the Government of India, WAVES 2025 is considered to be a milestone event for the media and entertainment (M&E) sector, meant to amplify India’s voice as a “global powerhouse”.

Over 100 leading exhibitors — including Netflix, Amazon, Google, Meta, Sony, Reliance, Adobe, Tata, Balaji Telefilms, Dharma Productions, Saregama, and Yash Raj Films — along with next-generation innovators such as JetSynthesys, Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM), Free Stream Technologies, Neural Garage, and Fractal Picture — are taking part in WAVES.

The summit is also expected to be “the definitive meeting point for innovation, creativity, and cross-border collaboration in the entertainment sector”, a release by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said.

Industrialist Mukesh Ambani will talk on ‘Building the Next Global Entertainment Revolution from India Speakers’  at a session on Thursday, while Nita Ambani will talk on ‘Taking Indian Culture to the World Speaker’ on Friday.

Cultural shows as well as Create in India Challenge, a strategic initiative aimed at empowering India’s content creators, will be held.
