After the Shiv Sena factions parted ways and Eknath Shinde became the chief minister last year, Uddhav Thackeray has been using the term “gaddar” referring to Shinde.
“Once when Bal Thackeray was asked ‘what would you do if a situation arises when you have join hands with Congress-NCP’, he said, ‘I would wind up Shiv Sena rather than joining hands with Congress-NCP’,” said Fadnavis.
According to Fadnavis, while Uddhav Thackeray compromised the ideology of Bal Thackeray for power, it was Shinde-led Sena that honoured it.
Referring to Uddhav Thackeray’s attack on PM Modi and union home minister Amit Shah over Manipur turmoil at the partys plenary session on Sunday, Fadnavis said, “We are reminded of Dhanaji Jadhav and Santaji Ghorpade who gave the Mughals a nightmare. Today, Modi and Shah are giving Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar and Congress leaders nightmares.”
Santaji and Dhanaji who led the army of the Maratha empire were feared by Mughals for their courage and commitment to the empire.
“They fear the PM as he has brought massive reforms across all sectors and brought recognition to the country from world over. No wonder the opposition, which united with just power in mind, cannot stand the leadership of Modi-Shah who have proved their mettle by taking bold decisions in national interest,” Fadnavis said.
“In his two-and-a-half years as CM, Uddhav Thackeray did not even show the courage to seek the resignation of cabinet minister Nawab Malik who has links with underworld Dawood, instead, he meekly surrendered to Pawar and Congress,” said Fadnavis adding that even NCP chief Sharad Pawar said in his autobiography that Uddhav went to Mantralaya only twice during his tenure, advsersely affecting the MVA image.
