Protect Hindus in Bangladesh, don’t ignore their pleas: Uddhav Thackeray to PM Modi
Uddhav Thackeray said if PM Modi can stop the Russia-Ukraine conflict to repatriate Indian students, he should also stop atrocities on Bangladeshi Hindus.

Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray Friday questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over their silence on the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and asked about the action they would take to safeguard the interests of minorities in the neighbouring country.
Thackeray said PM Modi should discuss the issue in the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament.
While addressing reporters at his residence, Matoshree, the former Maharashtra chief minister said, “Just like the Manipur violence, which is in our own country and is the responsibility of the Governnent of India, the Prime Minister and the Government seem to be ignoring the pleas of Hindus in Bangladesh. While the BJP’s social media ecosystem drives narratives on social media with videos (some real and some not), and its karyakartas indulge in protests against Bangladesh, why doesn’t the Union Government speak firmly for Hindus in Bangladesh?”.
Uddhav said if PM Modi can stop the Russia-Ukraine conflict to repatriate Indian students, he should also stop atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. “If Shaikh Hasina is safe in India, why are Hindus being attacked in Bangladesh and why are temples being vandalised there?” He asked.
“They were used by the BJP in its political narrative. When it comes to helping them, the government doesn’t speak. Likewise, in Mumbai, an 80-year-old Hanuman Temple has been issued a demolition notice by the Railways Ministry. It seems Hindus are used by the BJP only for elections,” Uddhav said.
He said neither are Hindus in Bangladesh safe nor are temples in Maharashtra because of the BJP government which sends the demolition notices.
