Two workers killed, one injured as slab collapses in Chikhla mines
According to the police, the incident took place around 9am at the depth of 100 metres in the mines of the public sector undertaking.

Two persons working at a Chikhla mines in the state owned Manganese Ore (India) Limited in Maharashtra’s Bhandara district died and another sustained major injuries after an incident of a slab collapse in the mines.
The deceased have been identified as Vijay Nandlal (50) and Arun Chormar (41), who succumbed on the spot after the mishap.
According to the police, the incident took place around 9am at the depth of 100 metres in the mines of the public sector undertaking.
The official said three workers who were the permanent employees at the mines working when the slab suddenly collapsed and were buried under the debris and sustained major injuries.
Bhandara Disaster Management Office said that all of them were rushed to a local hospital however two of them died while the third worker, Shankar Vishvakarma (56), was rushed to a hospital in Bhandara for treatment, where he is being treated.
The bodies of the deceased workers have been sent for a postmortem at a hospital in Tumsar. While Nandlal hailed from Kharpadia in Tirodi town of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra is the home state of the other two workers, officials said.
