Tiger found dead in buffer area of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Chandrapur

This is fifth tiger death reported this year from Vidarbha's tiger areas, second from TATR buffer zone.

A SUB-ADULT male tiger was found dead in the buffer area of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) in Chandrapur district on Wednesday.

“The carcass of the two-year-old tiger was found partly lying inside a perennial nullah in Doni-2 beat,” said Conservator of Forest Gajendra Narvane. “All body parts were intact and it didn’t seem like a case of poaching by any angle. The death appeared to have occurred two-three days ago but the exact reason is difficult to be ascertained. We will send the viscera samples for forensic examination to know the possible cause.”
