Sunil Karve writes to office of Charity Commissioner against Ajit Pawar event
Recently sworn-in minister Chhagan Bhujbal is also a lifetime trustee at the MET.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Lifetime trustee of MET Public Charitable trust in Bandra where the Ajit Pawar group is set to hold its meeting on Wednesday has written to the charity commissioner asking him to stop the political event in an educational institution.
“I have complained to the charity commissioner as the educational institute is being misused. More than 300-400 students study there. One cannot be allowed to hold political events at the institute,” said Sunil Karve, Lifetime trustee of the MET.
Recently sworn-in minister Chhagan Bhujbal is also a lifetime trustee at the MET.
Karve said that Bhujbal and his family have been misusing the institute for many years. “PWD officials and contractors used to meet him there when Bhujbal was PWD minister, which I put an end to. Even at the time of the Telgi scam many people used to gather there,” he said.
Karve said it is an educational institution. “The regulatory authority for a public charitable trust is the charity commissioner and hence I wrote to him. If such things are not stopped now, they will continue unabashed,” he said.
