Rasiqlal D Doshi,80,a legal consultant from Malabar Hill and an ardent cricket fan,has sent a legal notice to BCCI President N Srinivasan, seeking refund of ticket fee for the May 15 IPL match at Wankhede stadium between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.
Doshi says he spent Rs 20,000 for the eight tickets. He was at the Garware stand with seven family members, cheering for the home team. He has sought refund after cricketers Sreesanth,Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were booked for spot fixing. Its like a robbery. The bookies and others are making a killing through my hard-earned money, he said.
Doshi, who has been in legal profession for the past 59 years, added that he would file a case in court if BCCI does not refund his money. My grandson Neel was a Sreesanth fan. After this scandal,he feels that our money went down the drain, he said. .
Doshi said match-fixing was a form of forgery and his decision to write the letter was to exercise his right. For Doshi, who has been to several matches in the past, the May 15 game was the first IPL event that he witnessed live.
