Sandhya Singh’s son,the prime suspect in her murder, allegedly told Mumbai Police Crime Branch there were discrepancies in his statements because he had taken high dose of drugs the day Sandhya went missing. Crime Branch has applied for permission to subject both Raghuveer and his girlfriend to polygraph, brain mapping and lie detector tests.

Raghuveer Singh, whose anticipatory bail application was rejected by the sessions court on Tuesday, first fell under suspicion because the statement Raghuveer gave about Sandhya’s movements on the day of her disappearance clashed with those given by eyewitnesses. Also, when his sister called him to ask for Sandhya the next day,he first told her that she had gone out and later said she was sleeping.

“Initially,Raghuveer denied making these claims. However, headmitted to have taken heavy dose of drugs,” said an

officer. “We want to conduct the tests on Raghuveer’s girlfriend because she was living in the house at the time. her presence was a cause for disagreements between mother and son,” said officer.
