Solving Crime: How two gold teeth helped Mumbai police nab a cheat on the run for 15 years
Pravin Jadeja was arrested by the Mumbai police from a village in Gujarat's Kutch region after 15 years.

While working for a cloth merchant in Dadar East, Pravin Jadeja took Rs 40,000 from other merchants under the pretence of collecting money they owed to his employer. He then falsely claimed he was robbed, but investigations revealed he had kept the money.
Following his arrest and subsequent bail, Jadeja disappeared and failed to appear in court, leading to warrants being issued against him.
The Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg police, armed only with his name and the detail of his gold implants, set out to track him down.

The police investigated areas in Gujarat, particularly Kutch and Saurashtra, after receiving tips about his potential whereabouts. Eventually, in February 2023, they located a man named Pradeep Singh Jadeja, a vegetable wholesaler in Sabhrai village in Kutch, who matched Jadeja’s description.
To confirm his identity, the police posed as LIC officers and contacted him, claiming he needed to sign documents for a matured policy. However, they were unsure as he looked different from his photograph.
When he arrived, officers overpowered him and verified his identity by the gold implants. After they found the implants, the police arrested him and confirmed his identity with his former employer.
