Ajit Pawar takes dig at BJP, asks if party has accepted Shinde as next CM face
The former deputy Chief Minister said that had it been the government advertisment, he would have questioned the splurging.

Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers over Eknath Shinde–led Shiv Sena’s advertisments, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday asked if they have accepted Shinde being the Chief Ministerial face in Maharashtra above BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis.
The ads given by Sena on Tuesday had claimed Shinde being more popular than Fadnavis in Maharashtra and has announced that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the country, Shinde will be leading the state of Maharashtra.
“It is an advertisment given by Shiv Sena and it is their prerogtive to decide on how to spend the money. But this is for the first time that the ad from Shiv Sena does not have a photograph of Balasaheb Thackeray and Anand Dighe. This is at a time when Chief Minister Eknath Shinde idolises them both,” said Leader of Opposition in state Assembly Ajit Pawar.
Pawar said that the ad has not only announced that Shinde is more popular than Fadnavis but has also claimed that Shinde will be the Chief Ministerial candidate in the next elections. “It will be the internal matter of the alliance, but I would like to ask to BJP workers as to whether they accept that Shinde is more popular than Fadnavis,” asked Pawar.
The former deputy Chief Minister said that had it been the government advertisment, he would have questioned the splurging. “Though it is from a private entity, but this is the worst ad I have ever seen,” Pawar taunted.
