Shake that thing

We have been made to understand that Zara Nachke Dikha which is going to be aired on Star Plus is going to be a dance show with a “twist”. However,everyone concerned seemed unable to reach a consensus on what exactly the twist was going to be. Anupam Vasudev,Executive Vice-President,Marketing,Star India Private Limited,said that for the first time celebrities from all TV channels would be participating thus making it a “pan-industry show”.

Newly unveiled judges Vaibhavi Merchant and Shilpa Shetty (the third of the trinity,Arshad Warsi,was unavailable for comment) seemed of the opinion that the twist lay in the kitsch factor of the show. “This is going to be a fun show. A couple of episodes won’t even revolve around dancing but will be solely dedicated to fun,” says Merchant. Nine women will be pitted against nine men in the show which will be hosted by Mohit Sehgal and Sanaya Irani of the Miley Jab Hum Tum fame.

Shetty says that post-marriage,she was looking for something that wouldn’t detract from the time she wished to spend with her family. And considering she seemed to be joined at the hips with newly acquired husband Raj Kundra during the IPL frenzy,would he make an appearance on the show as well? “Oh no,” ripostes Shetty. “Star wouldn’t be able to afford us both.”
