The Mumbai police control room on Monday night received a call from a man who threatened to kill actor Salman Khan on April 30, officials said, adding that the caller identified himself as “Goushala Rakshak Rocky Bhai” from Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. He also told the police to inform the actor about the call. Mumbai police and Crime Branch officials are trying to trace the caller. Security has been stepped up outside Khan’s house. The actor has already been provided Y+ category security due to a perceived threat to his life and has a bulletproof vehicle for his safety. Last month, the Mumbai police had registered an FIR against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and one Mohit Garg for allegedly sending an e-mail threatening Khan. However, police officials investigating the matter suspect it to be a hoax. The e-mail was sent by a 25-year-old man in Delhi, currently studying in the United Kingdom. He does not seem to have any links to gangsters Bishnoi and Brar or any other gang, officials said. This was not the first time the actor had received a threat linked to the Bishnoi gang. In June last year, a letter had been kept at a spot on Bandra Bandstand where the actor’s father Salim Khan would take a walk. The letter claimed that the actor too would meet the same fate as singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed last year. An FIR was also filed in that case and the matter was transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch.
