Salman Khan gets fresh threat: ‘Pay Rs 5 crore to end enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi’

The message sent to the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai traffic police also warned Salman Khan that if he did not pay, his fate would be worse than that of former MLA Baba Siddique, who was shot dead last week.

Salman Khan received a new threat on Thursday via a message sent to the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai traffic police where the sender demanded Rs 5 crore from the actor if he wanted to “stay alive and end the enmity with (gangster) Lawrence Bishnoi”.

While sources in the Crime Branch of the Mumbai police said the message was a hoax, officials said that they are actively working to trace the sender.

“If the money is not given, Salman Khan’s condition will be worse than Baba Siddique,” the message further said, according to the police. Siddique, a former Maharashtra MLA, was shot dead by three assailants last week outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra. The Crime Branch has arrested four men, including two shooters, in the case.

Following this incident, the Mumbai traffic police received the threat directed at Khan. A senior traffic official confirmed that a complaint has been filed with the Worli police.

It is not the first time that the actor has been subjected to threats. In 2022, Salman Khan had received a threatening note on a bench near his residence in Bandra. In 2023, he had received a threat mail, and in April this year, two shooters had allegedly fired shots outside his house.

The Navi Mumbai police also registered a case in April against 18 people, including Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi, for plotting to kill Khan.
