Shiv Sena (UBT) on Saturday launched an all-out attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over their speeches in Parliament on the no-confidence motion moved by the Opposition ‘INDIA’, calling them “arrogant”, “irrational” and “suffering from inferiority complex”. The Sena (UBT) also said that blaming Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for the Manipur violence reflected the political bankruptcy of Modi.

“Modi’s long speech in Parliament during the no-confidence motion was full of arrogance, inferiority complex and irrational. He spoke for only three minutes on Manipur. Had he made a statement on the Manipur crisis in both Houses of Parliament, the ‘INDIA’ coalition would not have had to move a no-confidence motion and Modi would not have had to rant for two hours and 13 minutes at this age. Modi made the Congress big with his speech. His speech confirmed that his sun will not rise in 2024. They do not own the sun,” the Sena (UBT) said in an editorial in party mouthpiece Saamana.

The editorial slammed Modi’s speech as “stereotypical” and usual rhetoric against the Congress. “The PM had to come to speak in the Lok Sabha due to the no-confidence motion brought by the ‘INDIA’ coalition. He spoke for only three minutes on Manipur in over a two-hour speech. The rest of the speech was the same rhetoric against the Congress. This is his (Modi’s) agony. The global prominence of Pandit Nehru, Congress’s participation and work in the freedom struggle is tormenting Modi and he has not been able to get over it even after being in power for ten years,” the editorial said.

Further hitting out at Modi for blaming Nehru for the Manipur crisis, the editorial said that “Morarji Desai, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and V P Singh were non-Congress PMs and now Modi himself has been PM for ten years, but blaming Nehru for Manipur reflects his political bankruptcy. Women are being stripped naked in Manipur. Modi is the PM and people want answers from him. What is Nehru’s fault in this,” the editorial questioned.

In the editorial, the Sena (UBT) also praised Rahul Gandhi calling him a truthful and fearless leader and said it would be a test of Modi-Shah to face him.

“During the no-confidence motion, the masks of many people fell and the ruling party’s irritability could be felt. Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Parliament is the main reason behind that grumpiness. The Rahul Gandhi of ten years ago is no more the same today. The leadership of Modi-Shah is being tested in front of a truthful and fearless Rahul Gandhi,” the editorial added.

The Sena (UBT) also slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah . “What else was there in Shah’s speech other than threats, warnings, defamation of Congress,” it said.

“Shah is not a freedom fighter and a leader who came out of people’s agitation. Shah has been appointed as Home minister because it’s the personal need of Modi. A dictator needs a close confidant to enforce his illegal orders. The pressure and terrorism that is going on in the country is because of the fact that the Home ministry and the investigative system are in the hands of Amit Shah, but all this will not be in his hands after 2024. The same grumpiness and rant was seen in the long speeches of Shah and Modi. Despite defeating Congress twice in 2014 and 2019, both of them are afraid of Congress in 2024 and are attacking Congress itself. This is their mental weakness,” the editorial said.
