Rohit Pawar’s Yuva Sangharsh Yatra set to resume from today
In the wake of the fast-unto-death announced by Manoj Jarange-Patil, Pawar had suspended his Yuva Sangharsh Yatra on October 31, saying that he did not want to disturb peace in a state that was already facing unrest.

Two weeks after putting a pause to the Yuva Sangharsh Yatra due to raging Maratha reservation agitation across the state, opposition Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Rohit Pawar will restart the yatra on Friday from Chaundi in Ahmednagar district, birthplace of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar.
“We had said that we will restart the yatra at the right time. It is our commitment towards the youth of this state that we will continue to raise the issues concerned to them and matter to them. To fulfil this commitment, we are going to start our yatra,” said Pawar, while speaking to The Indian Express.
In the wake of the fast-unto-death announced by Manoj Jarange-Patil, Pawar had suspended his Yuva Sangharsh Yatra on October 31, saying that he did not want to disturb peace in a state that was already facing unrest.
“The yatra was for the youth, for their better future and for questions related to them. We are witnessing youth suicides. It is important, against the background of the fast announced by Jarange-Patil, to maintain peace and avoid further tension. We have suspended the yatra for the time being…,” he had said at a press conference in Nirvi village in Pune district.
As per the new schedule of the yatra, Pawar will end his yatra on December 10 at Nagpur where the winter session of the state legislature will be in progress. A grand show of strength is likely to take place at Nagpur on December 11 with NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s presence.
