Shiv Sena MP Dr Shrikant Shinde on Friday that the party’s success in the recent Lok Sabha elections, along with strong grassroots support from Shiv Sainiks and the positive reception from women and farmers towards welfare schemes like the Chief Minister’s Majhi Ladaki Bahin Yojana, Yuva Training Yojana, and Annapurna Yojana, has significantly boosted the party’s confidence as it prepares for the upcoming assembly elections.

While addressing a press conference in Nashik during Shiv Sena’s Jan Samvad Yatra in North Maharashtra, Dr Shrikant Shinde highlighted that in the first phase of the Jan Samvad Yatra, eight assembly constituencies in Jalgaon were reviewed on Thursday, followed by Deolali, Niphad, and Igatpuri constituencies in Nashik on Friday.

He mentioned that discussions were held with party office-bearers to strategise for the upcoming elections, with clear instructions given to officials and workers to ensure that key government schemes reach as many beneficiaries as possible.

MP Shinde shared that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had personally interacted with beneficiaries of the Majhi Ladaki Bahin Yojana Thursday, noting the excitement among women who have benefited from the scheme. “The government has taken a significant step by providing Rs 1,500 per month to these women, and they are genuinely pleased with this support,” said Shinde.

The Jan Samvad Yatra has been organised to assess the situation at the grassroots level in preparation for the elections. Dr Shinde stated that a detailed report of the findings would soon be submitted to the Chief Minister. “Our party is committed to ensuring the success of the Mahayuti’s candidates in the assembly elections, and we will make every effort to select the most deserving candidates,” he added.

Reflecting on the two-and-a -half years under the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, MP Shinde emphasised the progress made by the Mahayuti government in the last two years and the overwhelming response to its public welfare schemes. “The opposition is beginning to feel the pressure as citizens recognise the development work we’ve accomplished. While they managed to sway voters in the Lok Sabha elections through misinformation, such tactics will not work in the Assembly elections. The opposition is now politicizing every issue out of desperation,” he added.
