Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis takes part in a cleanliness drive at Mumbadevi Mandir after PM Narendra Modi called to clean temples ahead of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple consecration ceremony, in Mumbai on Tuesday. PTI To mark the consecration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, the Mumbai BJP has organised ‘Shri Ram Anand’ festival along with Geet Ramayan recital in Mumbai from January 20 to 23.
“Geet Ramayan, acclaimed for its lyrics, music and singing written by great poet G D Madgulkar and music composition and sung by Babuji alias Sudhir Phadke, is a collection of Marathi songs chronologically describing events from Ramayana. People will get the golden opportunity to experience pilgrimage through Geet Ramayan sung by renowned singers,” said Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar on Tuesday.
Prashant Lalit will do the music composition for the event in which singers Rishikesh Ranade, Ninad Ajgaokar, Abhishekh Nalavde, Sonali Karnik and Ketaki Bhave-Joshi will perform.
The programme will be held at four locations in Mumbai — Vile Parle (East), Girgaon, Bandra (West) and Matunga. Besides, other events, including ‘Maha aarti’ in different temples, cleaning of temples and lighting up of religious places, will be held in 227 wards across Mumbai.
Special darshan of ‘padukas’ (foot imprints) of different saints of Maharashtra has also been organised on this occasion. ‘Padukas’ of Swami Samartha from Akkalkot, Sai Baba from Shirdi, Ramdas Swami from Sajjangad, Shridhar Swami from Shimoga and Gajanan Maharaj from Shegaon will be brought to Mumbai for worship.
These ‘padukas’ will be kept for worship on January 23, 2024, at Symphony Banquet, 1st floor, Vijayanagar Society, Swami Nityanand Marg, Andheri, from 8.30 am to 9.30 pm.
