Police rescue school students from buses stranded amid waterlogging

The Mumbai Police on Monday rescued students from two school buses that were stranded on water-logged roads in Mumbai, as heavy rain continued to batter the city.
As a bus carrying students of Don Bosco School got stuck in Matunga, six Kindergarten students, two women staff members and the driver were trapped nearby for an hour.
Another bus of NKES school, carrying 30 to 40 students, was also stuck on a water-logged road near Sion police station.
“As soon as we got the information that two school buses carrying school children were stuck, police officials, who were already out on the road, reached the spot,” Deputy Commissioner of Police of Zone 4 Ragsudha said.

The parents of the children were informed and they took them home, said Ragsudha.
