Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said Saturday that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) will be a part of India within six months of Narendra Modi becoming “Prime Minister for the third time after the elections”. Addressing an election rally in Vasai in Palghar district of Maharashtra, Adityanath said, “We will not worship our enemy if they attack us. If someone kills our people, we will not worship them but give them an answer they deserve. Now, it has become difficult for Pakistan to save PoK.” “Once Modi Ji becomes Prime Minister for the third time after the elections, you will see Pakistan-occupied Kashmir becoming a part of India within six months. It takes courage to do this. This work can only be done if there is courage. Modi will definitely do this,” he said. “During Congress rule, attacks were being carried out from Pakistan… When we used to ask the Congress, it used to say that terrorists are coming from Pakistan, so what can we do? Today, Pakistan does not dare to even look at us with evil intention because they know the consequences. If they look at us, we will not be silent and will give a befitting reply. This is the new India which is on the path of development and it is being led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself,” he said. 'फिर एक बार मोदी सरकार' के स्वर से पूरा महाराष्ट्र गूंज रहा है। मुंबई उत्तर मध्य लोक सभा क्षेत्र में आयोजित विशाल जनसभा को संबोधित कर रहा हूं. — Yogi Adityanath (मोदी का परिवार) (@myogiadityanath) May 18, 2024 A PTI report from Lalitpur in UP quoted Union Home Minister Amit Shah telling an election rally that Congress leader “Mani Shankar Aiyar has said Pakistan should be respected as it has an atom bomb”. “But this is Narendra Modi’s government. We are not afraid of the atom bomb. PoK belongs to India and will remain so. We will take it,” Shah said. India has had a consistent and principled position on J&K including PoK. On February 22, 1994, when the P V Narasimha Rao government was in power at the Centre, both Houses of Parliament unanimously adopted a resolution, underlining that J&K was an integral part of India, and that Pakistan must vacate areas of J&K under its occupation.
