VIKHROLI police have traced the owner of one of the two fishing boats found abandoned in marshes on Monday. The man,a Bhiwandi resident,has been called to Vikhroli police station Wednesday.
Two boats spotted by residents in Vikhroli (East) had sparked panic in the area. Fishermen alerted police,who found the owner of one of the boats was a woman in Alibaug,Janita Tandel. But Tandel told us she had recently sold the boat to a man in Bhiwandi, said senior inspector Mahipat Indalkar.
Cops are yet to find leads on the second boat. As the boat bears no registration number,we are yet to trace its owner, he said. Maharashtra ATS inspected both boats Tuesday but found nothing suspicious,sources said.
