The dream of pursuing a career in dance brought 22-year-old Bharati Vaidya to the city from her hometown Nashik last month. For her, it was not easy to settle down in a new city, but gradually she fell in love with Mumbai. After completing her graduation from Nashik, she is doing MA in economics from Mumbai university.

What she likes

Hailing from a small town like Nashik, it was fascinating for Bharati to be in Mumbai. “I like the liveliness of the city and believe the city has some magic! It teaches something new everyday. I enjoyed the rain and loved the breeze at Juhu beach,” she says.

“I like Mumbaikars too. No matter how busy they are, if you ask for help, they’ll guide you. Be rikshawalas, train passengers, or anyone. I have also started liking the busy streets and the crowd,” she adds.

What she doesn’t like

“Mumbai is very dirty, even the beaches and heritage sites.” The weather too can be a problem. “I am so used to Nashik’s cool weather that humidity irritates me.” She also doesn’t like the way ‘Misal Pav’ is served in the city and says the ‘Misal’ being served here is different and not as tasty as it should be.
