Seasoned paddler Prasad Naik is more a photographer than a sportsman. But on Tuesday,he turned into a player with amazing results. He scaled over fifth seeded Ravindra Kotiyan 4-2 to storm into the men’s singles quarterfinals of the of the Matunga Gymkhana-All Mumbai ranking table tennis tournament hosted by Matunga Gymkhana here. What was the most remarkable feature about Prasad’s win was his never-say-die spirit. Though down 1-2,his resilience saw him turning the tables on his rival, who is still a junior and one of the most promising players in the state. Prasad taught a lesson or two to Ravindra in ball control. Ravindra, who relishes speed and power was often found in two minds as Prasad’s well-directed strokes caught him in two minds.
