In a bizarre incident on Mumbai roads, two traffic police constables allegedly towed a car while a woman was seated inside along with her infant on Saturday. The police constables reportedly towed the car without asking the women seated inside to step out.

Following the incident, the Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police has ordered an inquiry and directed DCP traffic to begin an investigation into the case. The senior police official directed the traffic police to visit the spot of the incident and file an inquiry report by Sunday.

As reported by news agency ANI, the women was breastfeeding her child when the traffic constables towed her car in a show of negligence. “Policemen towing the car did not even once ask me to get down, even when I told them that I am breastfeeding my baby they still did not stop,” said Jyoti Male, the woman inside the car.

The two constables have been reportedly suspended by the traffic police as the incident garnered criticism from political fraternity in the state.
