Mumbai’s Date with Saving Face

In what can be described as a coup of sorts,Women in Film and Television is partnering with the Asia Society to screen the Academy Award-winning documentary film Saving Face.

In what can be described as a coup of sorts,Women in Film and Television (WIFT) is partnering with the Asia Society to screen the Academy Award-winning documentary film Saving Face. The film,which won the 2012 Academy Award for Documentary (Short Subject),revolves around the lives of acid attack victims in Pakistan. The film will be screened on July 24 at the National Centre for Performing Arts. Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy,who directed the film with Daniel Junge,will also be present at the screening. The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session between WIFT advisory board member and director Kiran Rao and Obaid-Chinoy. The event is open to all members of WIFT.
