Mumbai airport runways to be closed for 6 hours tomorrow for maintenance works

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will temporarily suspend operations on both its runways for six hours on November 20 to carry out its annual post-monsoon maintenance work.

According to the airport, the maintenance activity is part of a yearly safety and preparedness programme undertaken after the monsoon to ensure that runway surfaces, lighting systems, and drainage infrastructure remain in optimal condition.

A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued well in advance, and the airport director said coordination with airlines and stakeholders began nearly six months ago to schedule adjustments in flight timings and manpower planning. Read

In the video, Bhupati, 70, a senior Maoist leader who surrendered in October along with 60 cadres, says that he has been receiving news of encounters.

“Since this morning, I have been receiving news of an encounter, in which six comrades, including Hidma, have lost their lives. This is a cause for concern. Mumbai News Live Updates: Peeved over defections of their workers to BJP Sena ministers skip Maharashtra cabinet meet

In a significant development ahead of civic elections in Maharashtra, most of the Shiv Sena ministers in the Mahayuti government on Tuesday stayed away from the weekly cabinet meeting, a move coming in the backdrop of defections from the regional party to the BJP.

Only Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who heads the Shiv Sena, was present at the cabinet meeting in Mantralaya (secretariat), sources claimed.

The development comes just days ahead of the first anniversary of the Devendra Fadnavis-headed Mahayuti government.

While no official reason was given for most of the Shiv Sena cabinet ministers staying away from the meeting, sources said the Shinde-led party wanted to send a message to the ally BJP, which heads the Mahayuti, that it did not approve of the latter weaning away its workers and leaders.
