Six persons, including close relatives of well-known builder Akhtar Rizvi, were booked on Saturday in connection with an alleged share fraud worth Rs 68 crore, involving forged documents and a fraudulent gift deed, police said.

Rizvi, 83, founder of M/s. Rizvi Estate and Hotels Pvt. Ltd. approached the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) earlier with a complaint claiming that a substantial portion of his shares in the company had been illegally transferred without his knowledge.

Based on the EOW’s inquiry, Bandra police registered the FIR on Saturday under IPC sections 465, 467, 468, 471 (pertaining to forgery), 420 (cheating), 120(B) (criminal conspiracy), and 34 (common intention). No arrests have been made in the case.
