Mumbai Confidential: ‘One gives order, other shoots down’ tussle between 2 IPS becomes headache for juniors

Two senior IPS officers — an Inspector General (IG) rank officer and a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) — who were recently moved to the same police vertical of a major police commissionerate have not been seeing eye to eye and that has become a big headache for others in the department. While one officer gives an order, the other shoots it down making things difficult for their juniors in the department who are hoping things are resolved soon.

Exit after wait

A senior official with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s office who had joined a few months ago has decided to call it a day. Insiders say that as no work was assigned to him, the official felt that his productive years in service were getting wasted waiting. The officer now awaits his new responsibility.
