A small initiative that won the praise of senior police officials; minister shocked by allotment of room without electricity connection to staff

An officer from an influential minister’s office was at a loss for words when PWD allotted them a room for their staff without an electricity connection. When he sought to fix things, he received a typical government response asking him to wait, while informing him of the difficulties one faces to get a power connection. The frustrated officer said he will now stand in the queue for the connection, and keep aside all the minister’s work.

A small act, and yet…

Maharashtra Home Secretary Sujata Saunik’s initiative to install a stand with hooks to hang caps has brought her accolades from senior police officials. The stand is installed on the wall in front of her cabin door. Officers hang their caps before entering her cabin while earlier they had to carry it in their hand during meetings. Her office received feedback wherein officers said it was a very small but much-needed facility which nobody before had thought of.
