 (File photo)The two runways of the Mumbai airport will be temporarily closed for six hours on November 20 for post-monsoon maintenance.
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued six months in advance, allowing airlines and other stakeholders to adjust flight schedules and manpower planning accordingly, said the Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), operator of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), in a statement, adding that MIAL continues its commitment to maintaining safe, secure and efficient operations.
The runways will be shut from 11 am to 5 pm for maintenance which will include detailed inspections, surface repairs, and technical assessments of runway lighting, markings, and drainage systems.

The post-monsoon maintenance forms an integral part of CSMIA’s year-round operational readiness programme reinforcing its “safety-first” approach.
“On November 20, from 11 am to 5 pm ,both runways will be temporarily non-operational owing to scheduled post-monsoon maintenance. This is a planned maintenance activity, for which a NOTAM was issued six months in advance to all stakeholders and airlines to ensure flight schedules and manpower planning are synchronised. There is no impact on operations. Mumbai International Airport Limited maintains the highest standard of air travel safety and security at CSMIA,” the statement added
