Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora on Tuesday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging him to conduct a thorough survey of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants across the state in the light of the recent housebreak at the residence of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.
He sought strict action against agencies that fail to verify documents before placing individuals in jobs. He said that the recent incident involving Saif Ali Khan highlights the urgent need to address this issue.
Deora also urged the government to make strict regulations for companies involved in supply of human resources.
The MP also demanded that the license of companies violating the rules should be cancelled and fines should be imposed on them. Regular checks should be done to ensure whether the companies are following the rules or not.
He said that Maharashtra is a beacon of possibilities and inclusiveness, but maintaining law and order is equally important. “If the problem of illegal Bangladeshi citizens is strictly resolved, it will increase the trust of the general public in the government and the interests of law-abiding citizens and entrepreneurs will be protected,” he said in the letter.
Deora expressed confidence that the Chief Minister will take serious note of the matter and take necessary action.
