According to IMD’s forecast for the city, the sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours and the maximum temperature will be around 36 degrees Celsius. “Because the current has become weak, the onset of the monsoon will be delayed. We cannot say exactly how long it will take for the monsoon to reach the city, but it will certainly be delayed,” said VK Rajeev, IMD Mumbai director. He attributed the high temperatures on Tuesday to the lack of cloud cover. On Tuesday, maximum temperature at Santacruz was 36.4 degrees Celsius, 3.2 degrees above normal and the maximum temperature at Colaba was 33.9 degrees Celsius.
