Missing GRP head constable back at work after 2 months

Government Railway Police (GRP) head constable Baban Pandharkar (54),who was missing since April 25,rejoined work at CST Wednesday. His wife Mangala had filed a missing complaint on April 27.

Pandharkar of Ghatkopar had been suspended for coming drunk to office on March 20. “He was found drunk on duty,” said a GRP officer. While an inquiry was on against him,Pandharkar suddenly stopped coming to work on April 26.

GRP have recorded his statement after he reported back to work after 54 days. They are probing if domestic disputes with wife was a factor in his disappearance.

“The inquiry pending against him will be restarted and suitable action taken,” a GRP officer said.
