Celebrity British chef Gordon Ramsay is known for his bold flavours, many Michelin-starred restaurants, unmistakable culinary legacy, and famously fiery temper inside the kitchen. The restaurateur also helms a clutch of franchise brands, one of which is Street Burger, now open in Delhi at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Terminal 1.

This marks Gordon Ramsay Restaurants’ first foray into India, made in partnership with Travel Food Services Limited (TFS).

Born in St Paul’s, London, Street Burger promises “honest priced burgers with bags of flavour,” as described on the official website.

At the Delhi outpost, the menu blends global favourites with local inspirations. Diners will find Gordon’s Fried Chicken Burger alongside a Tandoori Paneer Burger and a Butternut Bhaji Burger. The sides, we have been told, are equally indulgent: “Hotter than Hell Fries” smothered in molten cheese and sauces, crisp vegan bites, fresh salads, sticky toffee pudding, milkshakes and cocktails. Adapted for the pace of air travel, the idea is to deliver speed without compromising on chef-crafted flavour.

“India’s passion for its rich culinary heritage makes it a natural home for Street Burger,” said Andy Wenlock, CEO of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global, adding that international travel hubs are central to their growth strategy, with existing airport outlets in London, Doha and Hong Kong. “Expanding into Delhi—and soon Mumbai—is an exciting next step.”

Delhi airport, which handled nearly 78 million passengers in 2024 and ranks among the world’s 10 busiest, recently expanded Terminal 1 to accommodate 40 million domestic flyers annually. The scale and footfall made IGI a strategic choice for Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, reads the press note.

For TFS, which operates food courts, quick-service restaurants and lounges across 18 Indian airports, the launch is a milestone. “Indian travellers today expect global-quality dining that’s fast, relevant and elevated,” said Varun Kapur, MD and CEO of TFS. “Bringing Gordon Ramsay to India, and into the airport space for the first time, reflects the shift in what airport experiences can and should be.”

With this launch, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants joins a growing list of global dining brands betting on India, including Wagamama (which opened last month and brought to the country by K Hospitality, of which Kapur is also a director) and PF Chang (launched last year).

The debut also sets the stage for a wider expansion across India’s travel hubs, with more Ramsay dining concepts expected to follow. While unconfirmed, industry insiders suggest that Street Pizza, another franchise brand, is likely to debut in Mumbai next.
