MHADA wants cessed buildings insured

With several of the city’s cessed buildings,which are some of the oldest structures in Mumbai,being in a precarious condition,the chairman of MHADA repair board,Prasad Lad,has proposed getting such buildings insured. Lad recently wrote to CM Prithviraj Chavan saying the state should cover cessed buildings through a general insurance to provide Rs 5 lakh to the family of tenants or occupants in case of loss of life and Rs 2 lakh to families in case of injuries in such accidents.
